  • What is a Food Intolerance?

Inflammation caused by reactions are linked to a wide variety of chronic health problems like obesity and diabetes, as well as skin, heart, joint, and digestive disorders.

Symptoms can show-up hours or even days later, making it hard to connect the dots.
Elimination diets can be effective for the big offenders like corn, gluten, dairy, and soy…but what about the dozens of others foods you like to eat?

  • ALCAT versus IgG Food Intolerance Test

What’s the difference between the standard lgG food sensitivity test and the ALCAT test?

The ALCAT test is a live blood cell test designed to measure your reaction to foods, chemicals, and molds. An lgG test is heavily dependent on previous exposure and simply counts existing antibodies.

The Alcat Test measures food/immune reactions through stimulation of leukocytes. The leukocytes, which comprise five classes of white blood cells (WBCs), including monocytes, lymphocytes, eosinophils, basophils and neutrophils (~ 70 – 80% of WBC’s) can be challenged with individual food or chemical extracts.

  • Who Should Test?

Cellular reactions to foods, chemicals and other substances can be associated with both acute and chronic pathologies.

Association between the innate immune system, inflammation and the development of chronic conditions.

    • Gastrointestinal Disorders, e.g. Diarrhea /Constipation, Bloating, IBS, Gastritis, Reflux, Associated Malabsorption (nutritional deficiencies) Skin Symptoms, e.g. Eczema, Psoriasis, Rashes, Keratosis Pilaris, Urticaria, Acne
    • Neurological Symptoms, e.g. Migraines, Headaches, Memory Problems, Chronic Fatigue, Mood Swings, Depression (neuroendocrine immune system), ADHD, Neuropathy, cognitive impairment
    • Respiratory Disease, e.g. Chronic Cough, Wheezing / Bronchoconstriction, Sinusitis
    • Metabolic / Endocrine Disorders, e.g. Obesity, Diabetes, Metabolic Syndrome, Inability to Lose Weight, Weight Loss, Thyroid Illness and Diseases, Infertility, Irregular Menstruation
    • Muscular / Skeletal Disorders, e.g. Stiff or Sore Joints, Arthritis, Tendonitis
    • Immune System and other Comorbidities, e.g. Reduced immunity against Infections, Allergies, Autoimmune Diseases, Heart Problems, progression of tumors 35-40
  • One Simple Blood Draw

With a one-time blood draw, over 450 individual foods, additives, colorings, biological and chemical substances can be screened.

  • Clear Test Results

Alcat Test results include an easy to read color-coded test report classifying tested items according to degree of cellular reactivity.

Included with each report is a wallet-sized test results card, Foods to Avoid list, food rotation plan (when testing 100 foods or more) and a comprehensive Understanding your Alcat Test Results patient guidebook.

Optional: One on one complimentary, phone based, test review consultations are available for you and your patients with a nutritional counselor at Cell Science Systems.
