Massage Services

Deep Tissue Massage

Deep Tissue Massage utilizes slow strokes and deep finger pressures to reach the deeper levels of muscle tissue.

This particular approach to massage is designed to release chronic patterns of tension, which form in the body as well as to break up and eliminate scar tissue. In Deep Tissue Massage, the Massage Therapist massages across the grain of the muscle.

When eliminating scar tissue, some clients report they experience soreness during or right after the massage.

However, by releasing the deep muscle tension we are able to lead to new flexibility, a new vibrancy, and a new you!

Sports Massage

Sports Massage is a specialized massage type which was developed specifically to prepare athletes for peak performance!

Whether you have an existing injury which needs to be healed, or are trying to prevent new injuries while participating in athletic activities, Sports Massage is for you.

Our techniques have been shown to prevent fatigue, relieve swelling, reduce muscle tension, boost flexibility, and prevent injuries in athletes of all sports and recreations.

Swedish Massage

This massage technique was developed by a Swedish physician in the 1700s, and is still used widely today!

The goal of Swedish Massage is to increase the oxygen flow in your bloodstream and release built up toxins from your muscles.

Swedish Massage incorporates a variety of techniques which are specifically designed to relax aching muscles by applying pressure to them against deeper muscles and bones while rubbing in the same direction as blood returns to the heart.

Acupressure is an ancient Japanese technique based on the principles of Acupuncture.

This technique uses finger pressure rather than needles on specific points along the body. Acupressure accesses and releases any blocked or congested energy centers in the body.

You will see acupressure mentioned in several of the other services which are offered, as it is an incredibly influential method of treatment.

Seated Massage

This massage is a 10 to 15 minute body workout session which is generally Shiatsu-based and performed in a special chair.

For this massage you face cushions on the chair which exposes your scalp, neck, back, and hips for treatment.

Originally this massage was used in the workplace, but it has also become common in storefronts and health food stores, airports and other locations. We are happy to provide it to you at your convenience!

Thai Medical Massage

Thai Medical Massage is an extraordinary 2500 year old healing arts system which is based in Ayurvedic medicine, Buddhist spiritual practice, and yoga. This practice is performed on a cushioned floor mat to provide optimum comfort.

This massage technique blends gentle rocking, rhythmic acupressure and deep stretches.

The goal of Thai Medical Massage in order to open, exercise, and tone all systems of the body. After a session of Thai Medical Massage, clients report feeling relaxed, refreshed, and revitalized!

Reflexology is a popular holistic healing method which involves applying pressure on and massaging the reflex points found on the feet, ears, and hands. By utilizing precise pressure techniques we are able to remedy many health disorders.

Reflexology is designed to support the body’s self-healing mechanisms which are already in place. Through Reflexology your body’s healing energies will be re-balanced.

Lymphatic Drainage

Lymphatic drainage is a therapeutic massage treatment. The massage uses very light pressure and long, gentle, rhythmic strokes to increase the flow of lymph and reduce toxins in your body. The lymph system is part of your body’s immune system and helps fight infection.

The proper functioning of the lymphatic system is critical to our body’s ability to drain fluids, detoxify, regenerate tissues, filter out toxins and foreign substances, and maintain a healthy immune system.

Nurtured Mother Massage

Massage during pregnancy is therapeutic bodywork which focuses on the unique needs of the mother-to-be while her body goes through the dramatic changes of the childbirth experience.

Prenatal Massage Therapy enhances the function of the mother-to-be’s taxed muscles and joints, improves her circulation and general body tone, as well as helps to reduce her mental and physical fatigue.

Pregnancy massage can be administered in a variety of different ways to ensure maximum comfort – a frequently utilized method involves the use of a specially designed pillow which allows the expectant mother to lie flat on her stomach.

Neuromuscular therapy consists of alternating levels of concentrated pressure on the areas of muscles which spasm. Neuromuscular therapy is the most effective type of massage for lower back pain, which is a frequent complaint for many of our office-dwelling clients.

Neuromuscular therapy, like many tension releasing therapies, may feel painful at first. However, the pressure of the massage helps to alleviate the muscle spasms which cause frequent or persistent back pain.

Trigger Point

This area of massage works with trigger points and tender, congested areas in muscle tissue. Frequently trigger points and tender muscle tissue are capable of radiating pain to other areas.

The techniques which are utilized in trigger point therapies are similar to those used in shiatsu or acupressure, but the application of these methods is based on Western anatomy and physiology.

Hot Stone Massage

Hot Stone Massage Therapy is widely known for its deep relaxation benefits. It employs a technique which uses heated basalt stones which are placed on specific acupressure points on the body.

The stones melt away knots, tension, and stress and can be applied in conjunction with other relaxation methods such as hot essential oils. The hot stone experience relieves pain, promotes harmony within the body and mind, and helps to restore a sense of balance and peace.
