Half Session $40.00 The term "Swedish Massage" refers to a variety of techniques specifically designed to relax muscles by applying pressure to them against deeper muscles and bones, and rubbing in the same direction as the flow of blood returning to the heart. Swedish massage was developed in the 1700's by a Swedish doctor named Per Henrik Ling. The main purpose of Swedish massage is to increase the oxygen flow in the blood and release toxins from the muscles. It is a soft tissue manipulation modality that utilizes three primary techniques to accomplish its objective Effleurage: long gliding stroke Petrissage: kneading soft tissue Tapotement: percussion. |
Sports Massage Full Session $40.00 (30mins) Sports Massage is a special form of massage and is typically used before, during, and after athletic events. The purpose of the massage is to prepare the athlete for peak performance, to drain away fatigue, to relieve swelling, to reduce muscle tension, to promote flexibility and to prevent injuries. |
Deep Tissue Massage Full Session $70
Half Session $40 Deep Tissue Massage is a massage technique that focuses on the deeper layers of muscle tissue. It aims to release the chronic patterns of tension in the body through slow strokes and deep finger pressure on the contracted areas, either following or going across the fiber's of the muscles, tendons and fascia.
Deep tissue massage is used to release chronic muscle tension through slower strokes and more direct deep pressure or friction applied across the grain of the muscles not with the grain. Deep tissue massage helps to break up and eliminate scar tissue. Deep tissue massage usually focuses on more specific areas and may cause some soreness during or right after the massage. However, if the massage is done correctly you should feel better than ever within a day or two. |

Baby's First Massage
$75 for 3 sessions Designed for the new parents, this massage focuses on proven massage techniques that not only will help improve the babies over all health but also help strengthen the bond between parent and child. The class is conducted with simulated babies and is designed for expecting parents but is geared toward any one who is in the family household.
Knowing a massage routine may help to calm the parent and infant; certainly knowing something will allay parental fears. The close contact can also bring information about where in the body might there be a problem or discomfort. This can bring greater empathy between parent and child and will be important in the long term. |

Half Session $40.00 This refers to any or several systems of working with trigger points. Trigger points are tender congested spots in muscle tissue, which may radiate pain to other areas. The techniques used in trigger point therapies are similar to those used in shiatsu or acupressure, but trigger point therapies are based on western anatomy and physiology. |

Neuromuscular Therapy Full Session $65.00
Half Session $40.00 The most effective type of massage therapy for lower back pain is neuromuscular therapy. Neuromuscular therapy is also called trigger point myotherapy. Neuromuscular therapy consists of alternating levels of concentrated pressure on the areas of muscle spasm. The massage therapy pressure is usually applied with the fingers, knuckles, or elbow. Once applied to a muscle spasm, the pressure should not vary for ten to thirty seconds. Neuromuscular therapy will feel painful at first, but the pressure of the massage should alleviate the muscle spasm. |

There are a variety of conditions appropriate for medical massage but in our practice it is designed with and under the supervision of a physician's prescription.
